dr-clariceDr. Clarice Nishio DDS, MSc. PhD, FRCD(C) Orthodontist

Dr. Clarice Nishio completed her dental doctorate degree at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 1996. She obtained her orthodontics specialty training at the Fluminense Federal University in 1999; and her orthodontics master degree (2005) and PhD (2008) at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Nishio started her international career in 2007, when she worked as an associate researcher for 1 year at the University of Hiroshima, Japan.
After deciding to move to Canada, she underwent a second orthodontic masters program at the University of Montreal, in Quebec, Canada.
Dr. Nishio is currently an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Montreal. She has authored several publications, has obtained multiple diverse awards, and is actively involved in the scientific research community.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Nishio has acquired essential experience in esthetic orthodontic appliances such as: Invisalign, ceramic brackets and lingual orthodontic appliances.
She is a member of the Royal College of Dentists (RCDC), Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), Quebec Association of Orthodontists (AOQ), Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO) and American Association of Orthodontists (AAO).

What is Orthodontics?

Orthodontics is the dental specialty which specializes in treating, diagnosing and preventing facial and dental irregularities such as malocclusions. Orthodontists have a specialized skill set in treatments to straighten and align teeth while also correcting the position of the lips and jaw into proper alignment. Orthodontists can achieve these outcomes with metal brackets, ceramic brackets, Invisalign and more.

Treatments that are currently available at our office include:
Conventional stainless steel brackets, Clear ceramic brackets, highly cosmetic lingual braces, as well as Invisalign.
